WEEK 12

Title of Activity : Circuit wiring/ circuit connection

Objective : To make circuit wiring tidy and neat

Activities/ Procedure :

1) This week, we are combining all the circuit to make a complete circuit. Firstly, we connect positive(+ve) and negative(-ve) terminals to micro controller circuit input voltage. Next, we connect gas sensor circuit to micro controller circuit and lastly LCD display input terminal to Micro controller circuit output terminals.

2) It is crucial to make a correct wiring installation as it may damaging the circuit. Shown below is competed circuit.

Conclusion : Although it may seem as easiest part of making complete circuit,but extra observation and technical knowledge must be put ahead to ensure circuit can well functioning.

WEEK 11

WEEK 11

Title of Activities :  2nd FYP briefing and having meeting with supervisor

Objective :

 1) To gain a lot of important information regarding industry day
 2) To discuss encountered problem with supervisor

Activities/ Procedures :

1) Fyp 2nd briefing was held on Friday with some points that are:
       i) Project Demo
       ii) Preparation
       iii) Final report

2) This week briefing have focusing on preparing students on showing well at Industry Day. Many tips and guidance were given  by the speakers.

3) We also have a meeting with supervisor to discuss the problem that we have faced throughout the whole week.

Conclusion : By attending briefing and meeting, we gained a lot of valuable information and can be well prepared during upcoming Industry Day.

WEEK 10

WEEK 10

Title of Activitie : Soldering the circuit

Objective :   To solder every point available on circuit

Activities/ Procedures :

1)  Soldering the circuit take places after etching process were done. This procedure need a good skill because some electronic components are sensitive with heat and too many solder/de soldering may cause track to burned out.

2) Choosing a good quality soldering iron is important because low-quality soldering iron may overheated and it can cause a huge problem afterwards.

Conclusion : 

Throughout this activity, we can see that skill/experience play an important role to solder with quality point as it can make circuit well function and neat.  

WEEK 9

WEEK 9

Title of Activities : PCB Etching

Objective : To remove unwanted copper and leaving the track circuit

Activities/ Procedure :

1) After we have completed PCB layout design last week, we continued our work this week by ironing OHP paper to PCB using standard iron. It requires approximately 15 minutes to make OHP paper strongly attached to PCB.

2) After ironing process,then etching take place. We dissolve etching powder with cold water to make etching liquid. After that, we shake that mixture to ensure unwanted copper are completely vanish from PCB. This method requires about 30-40 minutes depending on size of circuit.

Problem Encountered : 

This procedure requires close inspection as etching liquid may damages whole circuit which means we need to iron another circuit.

Conclusion :

Based on what we observed, we can see that this method requires a lot of time and observation. However,this method are applicable if there are not etching machine around/
